Woodland Essence

Woodland Essence, located just inside the Adirondack’s forested Park, began 30 years ago with herbalist Kate Gilday who, since 1975 has been studying, growing, wildcrafting and sourcing high quality herbs with her family (and now amazing team) to craft into unique plant products designedto support a person’s path to well-being. We offer Herbal Extracts, Cremes and Salves, handcrafted with love in small batches along with a line of Forest Flower Essences of the Northeast that Kate and husband Don Babineau were called to prepare in 1990.

Kate weaves her experience as a clinical herbalist with her past Ayurvedic training at Kripalu into crafting the formulas Woodland Essence is known for. Some formulas were designed with friend and colleague Stephen Harrod Buhner, Earth poet, author and devoted researcher who addressed tick-borne infections with herbs, developing protocols that he shared in several books. Over the years we have become known as a trusted source of herbs that address Lyme and other health challenges, serving individuals, families and clinics across the US and beyond who trust us to provide the finest herbal products that shine with love and hope.
